The Dryad is a short urban-fantasy story of 2,557 words. It contains mentions of PETA and a brief discussion of slavery regarding non-humans.
Natalie is something of a mess, but it's easier to focus on fixing the mess of her garden rather than herself. A surprising find at her local Wal-Mart of a dryad attached to a plastic Christmas tree (it looked remarkably realistic, in its defense) comes in handy and saves her garden (though not her debt ratio).
